HELP!! very flaky scalp, cant use medicated shampoos, what can I try?

Around my hair line, and scalp in general I have patches which flake and my scalp has a general scaly, scabbed feeling. I cant use medicated shampoos as I colour my hair and they strip the colour out really quickly. What can I use to relieve my scalp and flush the flakes out!!??HELP!! very flaky scalp, cant use medicated shampoos, what can I try?
Dandruff is not from dry scalp but from oily scalp... Have you recently changed your hair washing regimen? Did you used to wash daily?

Try washing daily using a light shampoo that won't build up...Don't ever use a 2 in 1 (shampoo plus conditioner) as these are very heavy %26amp; produce build up on hair.

Also, don't pick at the ';scaly's'; you'll damage your scalp more. You should see it clear up in about 2-3 days.HELP!! very flaky scalp, cant use medicated shampoos, what can I try?
Go to a local pharmacy, at any walgreens, hooks, osco ect. and explain the problem, as I'm sure they would recommend an over the counter shampoo that is more of an oil-based moisturizing type, hope this helps you!
lakes is a form of dry skin........put oil regularly not nly flakes will disappear but ur hair will become silky too.
Use a tree tea shampoo. Doesn't strip the color. Paul Mitchell makes one. At least it won't strip it if you are using a permanent color and not the temporary ones.
By coloring your hair alot, it will cause your hair and your scalp to become dry like that. when you wash your hair, wash it twice and maybe even take a bristle brush and scrape all the loose dry skin off. Not harshly though. and when you use a hair conditioner, use one that will coat the hair and then rub it in well into your scalp also to help to put back some of the natural oils in your hair. Also, you could do an Vit. E. oil treatment to your hair by brushing oil into the hair saturating it well on the scalp and the ends of your hair. leave on and put a plastic back over all your hair and then blow dry for half an hour. then wash your hair out and use conditoner again. This will help to get your scalp to heal and to not dry out so bad.
Tar Shampoo.

Smells bad in some cases but it will clear that right up. You don't have dandruff anyway.
which do you want more? a healthy scalp or dyed hair? pick one. use the shampoo. don't wash your hair every day. use a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner.
there is a medicated shampoo for color treated hair. it is called dermarest. i use it now because i have had a color treatment and i had dry scalp. this works and it solves your problem. i dont

know if they make it, but look for t-gel in color treated hair safe form because that is the best shampoo you can use
