I have 8 yr old Ger Shep that scratches & bites lots. No fleas. Flea and medicated shampoos no work. Help?

Probably a food allergy. Most probably corn or gluten. Try him first on a corn free food for a bag. If that doesn't help then try gluten free. If these do not help you might have to switch to one made from duck or some other non standard meat like lamb or fish or venison.I have 8 yr old Ger Shep that scratches %26amp; bites lots. No fleas. You 'll need to go to the vet to be sure. Could be a skin condition. Could be an allergic reaction to her food or something in her environment. Could be an anxiety behavior. You'll need to have her checked out and, as she's getting older, you may have to change her diet somewhat. Your vet is the best authority to help you with this.

try a dog food that's grain free:i have a dog with food allergies.

i use:Dyck van Pattens Natural Balance

they are not too expensive, have dry and canned foods.

check the website,as you can get coupons from the company.
Most likely allergies to something. You should call the vet. They may have you try something like Benadryl. DO NOT give to the dog with out asking a VET.
Maybe it's the food that he is eating. try changing his food.
Selamectin treatment.
Try the vet.
